First of all you have to visit Athens Acropolis Museum. Located next to the Acropolis, the new museum displays statues and artifacts from the Parthenon. The cafe and museum shops inside are a must to visit as well.
Continue your tour with the National Library of Greece; It was initiated by Ioannis Kapodistrias and is a part of the famous Trilogy of neo-classical buildings of Athens.

A really beautiful small museum where are exhibited examples of Greek civilization you will find on Kanellopoulos museum.
Strolling at the center of Athens you will see the highest research establishment in the country; the Academy of Athens. The building is a characteristic example of mature Neoclassicism. Do not miss also, Adrian's Arch; erected in honor of the Roman emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century A.D. Tip: Take a shot from atop of hop-on hop-off buses.
